Job Description

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chip and display manufacturing, enabling technologies like AI and IoT. This role involves participating in the design, development, and maintenance of business intelligence metrics, reports, and dashboards. It requires building and maintaining data pipelines in Azure, ensuring data accuracy, and optimizing query performance. The analyst will also work on data warehousing, assess reporting needs, and train users on the BI system.
Must have:
  • Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain business data pipeline in Applied cloud environment (Azure).
  • Create and maintain code documentation, establish and conform to coding BKMs, optimize query performance.
  • Perform regular database maintenance including auditing, duplicating, removing outdated data, and cleaning data warehouse.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of managerial and business intelligence reports, views, dashboards, and user data.
  • Implement new business reports within established framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Train and support end users on accessing reports.
  • Work with others in the development of data warehouses and other data sources.
  • Assess reporting needs and requirements, devise plans for appropriate reporting solutions.
  • Educate and train user community on potential uses of the business intelligence system.
  • Extract financial, statistical, and other data from various information systems and sources.
  • Design and develop recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence solutions (reports, cubes, dashboards).
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience on database management and SQL querying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in the design, development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. used to drive key business decisions.
  • Design, develop and maintain business data pipeline in Applied cloud environment (Azure) to ensure streamlined query scripting and performance
  • Create and maintain code documentation. Establish and conform to coding BKMs. Optimize query performance by employing industry best practices.
  • Perform regular database maintenance including auditing duplicating, removing outdated data and clean up data warehouse owned by the group
  • Works within controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality of all managerial and business intelligence reports, views, dashboards, and user data. Implements new business reports within the established reporting framework, policies and procedures. Trains and supports end users on accessing of reports.
  • Works with others in the development of data warehouses and other data sources to support managerial and business intelligence reporting needs.
  • Works with business intelligence manager and other staff to assess various reporting needs. Analyzes reporting needs and requirements, assesses current reporting in the context of strategic goals and devise plans for delivering the most appropriate reporting solutions to users.
  • Educates & trains user community on the potential uses of the business intelligence system
  • Extracts financial, statistical and other data from various information systems and other sources.
  • Designs and develops recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence solutions such as reports, cubes, and dashboards, using industry best practices for presentation, efficiency, and user friendliness. Designs reports to aid in the efficient assimilation of the data by users by engaging exception reporting.
