Day in the life of a Community Manager:
As Sumo Newcastle’s Community Manager, you will be the community’s voice and ear inside the development studio. You'll enjoy managing and engaging with players while immersing yourself in a variety of game communities across Discord, Reddit and Steam, ensuring a positive experience across our channels. You’ll be a driving force in the community, accountable for feeding back requests and feedback from our community and also updating players on updates and improvements. Collaborating closely with developers, you'll create compelling content and manage assets, maintain content calendars, and collaborate on various video formats, all aimed at continuously engaging our community.
Please note, this role can be done on a fully remote or hybrid basis within the UK.
What you need to do this job:
• Experience with managing gaming communities on social media.
• Knowledge of social media platforms including Steam, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, Discord and Twitch.
• An understanding of measuring and reporting on social media performance.
• A passion for video games and video games communities.
• Collaborative and creative energy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, work at pace and deliver content to deadline.
• A high level of motivation and proactivity, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
The Interview Process:
At Sumo Newcastle, we want a holistic and engaging interview process that allows us to get to know you, your skills and your potential. For the Community Manager role, we have a two stage interview process:
1st Stage: One hour with our Producer and Senior Community Manager. Here we will talk with you about your experience, our expectations in the role and ask some competency based questions. There will of course also be opportunities for you to ask questions!
2nd Stage: One hour with our Producer and Senior Level Designer. This is a chance for us to discuss further technical aspects of the role and for you to meet other members of our studio.
