Description

We are seeking a talented Compositing Artist to join our animation team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animation with strong technical skills in compositing and a keen eye for detail. As a Compositing Artist, you will play a critical role in the post-production process, integrating various elements to bring our animated projects to life.

This a hybrid role, 3 days in the studio and 2 days from home. Our studio is based in Mumbai, and these are freelance/contract roles.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with the animation director, compositing supervisor, and other team members to understand the creative vision and technical requirements of each project.
  2. Composite multiple layers of animation, including characters, backgrounds, effects, and props, to create seamless and visually stunning final frames.
  3. Ensure that all elements are integrated seamlessly, paying close attention to lighting, color, and composition to maintain the desired aesthetic.
  4. Collaborate with other artists and departments, including animators, modelers, and texture artists, to troubleshoot and resolve any technical or creative issues that arise during the compositing process.
  5. Perform rotoscoping, masking, and other compositing techniques as needed to isolate and integrate elements effectively.
  6. Implement color correction and grading to achieve the desired look and feel of the final frames, in accordance with the project's artistic direction.
  7. Maintain organized project files and adhere to production deadlines, ensuring that all compositing tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and software tools to continually improve skills and contribute to the studio's creative growth.
  9. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, sharing knowledge and expertise with team members and providing constructive feedback as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience as a compositing artist in animation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in compositing techniques and artistic ability.
  2. Proficiency in industry-standard compositing software such as Adobe After Effects, Nuke, or Fusion.
  3. Solid understanding of animation principles, colour theory, and composition.
  4. Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual storytelling.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  6. Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  7. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  8. Passion for animation and a commitment to delivering exceptional work on every project.
