Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze and update standard costs of manufactured goods.
- Maintain cost accounting system, including cost rolls, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and routings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost variance analysis (e.g., PPV, labor efficiency, material usage).
- Conduct inventory valuation, reconciliation, and reporting (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing manufacturing performance KPIs (e.g., yield, scrap, throughput).
- Work with operations to monitor and explain variances between actual and standard costs.
- Provide cost estimates for new product launches or changes to existing products.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for COGS and manufacturing overhead.
- Assist with monthly closing process.
- Support both Internal & External Audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Participate in ERP system enhancements related to cost and inventory modules.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of standard costing, cost accounting principles, and inventory management.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
