Job Description

The Crowd Artist, under the direction of the Crowd Supervisor, is responsible for delivering all aspects of crowd behaviors and simulations for the project using off-the-shelf or proprietary software and tools. Responsibilities include creative work, presenting work to supervisors, creating crowd simulations from keyframed cycles or motion capture data, attending relevant meetings, and working independently with minimal supervision. The artist should also be a team player. Experience with Houdini and Maya is required.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in cycle animation, character animation, rigging, and/or mocap
  • Scripting in languages like Python, VEX is a plus
  • Experience with Motion Builder, Massive, Golaem or other crowd software
Must Have:
  • Creative with strong attention to detail

  • Creating crowd simulations using crowd software

  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in a Linux production environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Creative with a strong attention to detail
  • Organise and present your work to your Supervisor and Visual Effects Supervisor and address any notes accurately.
  • Creating crowd simulations from key framed cycles or motion capture data, using Crowd simulation software and motion editing tools.
  • Attend all relevant meetings on shots, sequences, and production
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who excels within a collaborative environment


  • KEY REQUIREMENTS AND SKILL SETS

     

    • Proven experience and knowledge working with Houdini and Maya
    • Proven experience in working with crowds on Feature or VFX productions
    • Experience working with a USD based pipeline
    • Experience working in a Linux production environment
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills
