Lightcast is looking for data-driven individuals with specific language expertise to enhance its global product features. The role involves ensuring high-quality data delivery to clients. Key responsibilities include analyzing and improving the quality of multilingual text classifiers, collaborating with linguistics and engineering teams to develop new language parsers, and translating various taxonomies like Skills, Titles, and Occupations. The position requires competency in reading and writing Hebrew, understanding language syntax, proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions), knowledge of query languages like SQL, advanced RegEx for rule writing, and familiarity with text analysis or machine learning principles. Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel or Python is also expected. The ideal candidate should have a high tolerance for repetitive tasks, the ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, work independently, and possess strong time management skills. A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP, or a similar field is preferred, along with knowledge of other languages. This is a full-time, independent contractor position for up to 9 months, requiring the use of a personal laptop.
Must have:

Job Details
Lightcast is seeking data-driven individuals with specific language expertise to help expand our global product features. This person will play a key role in ensuring we deliver high-quality data to our clients.
Note: This is a full-time (40 hours/week) independent contractor position for up to 9 months. It is a BYOD (bring your own device) role requiring access to a personal laptop.
Major Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve data quality of multilingual text classifiers.
- Work with linguistics and engineering teams to build out new parsers across languages.
- Translate various taxonomies such as Skills, Titles, and Occupations.
- Competency in reading and writing Hebrew
- Understanding of syntax and structural analysis of languages
- Microsoft Excel experience (including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions)
- Knowledge of query languages such as SQL
- Advanced knowledge of rule writing using RegEx
- Knowledge of text analysis or machine learning principles
- Experience with data analysis using tools such as Excel or Python
- High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity and work independently.
- Superb sense of urgency and time management.
- Reliable laptop and internet access
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP or similar (preferred)
- Knowledge of other languages.
