As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.
The Global Data Center Market Development (GDMD) Team sits within Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) and leverages market development, economic development, public affairs, partnerships and industry expertise to help deliver and sustain technical infrastructure for Google.
In this role, you will work to protect investments in existing data centers and expand into new markets. You will protect its licence to operate and accomplish this by addressing risks associated with legislation and regulation, negotiating economic incentives, and collaborating with key opinion leaders to showcase the benefits that Google data centers bring to communities. You will represent Google, and make a positive impact on the communities where we operate. You will engage with key opinion leaders and community representatives at the national and local levels throughout the data center life-cycle. Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of standardized strategies and frameworks to expedite expansion within current markets and facilitate entry into new ones.This involves a proactive approach to scaling infrastructure development.
- Analyze prevailing market trends, evolving customer needs, and the engaged environment of crucial opportunities for both growth and effective market penetration strategies.
- Identify and strategically utilize existing regulatory frameworks and specific data centre technical requirements to establish distinct advantages and accelerate the process of entering new markets.
- Forge collaborative relationships with infrastructure development teams to guarantee that all future projects are strategically aligned with identified market demand and overarching go-to-market strategies.
- Conduct through market research and analysis to uncover emerging trends, previously not met customer needs, and potential new market segments across the EMEA region. Furthermore, represent the company in relevant industry discussions.
