Job Description

As a Software Engineer, Tools and Infrastructure, you will build software to empower engineering teams at Google to develop and deliver high-quality products quickly, focusing on scalability, stability, and code health. You will contribute to the Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped (GDC-ag) product, ensuring development and release workflows have healthy, automated environments that mimic production, supporting organizations with stringent sovereignty and regulatory requirements.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Expertise on the networking and lower-level of software stack (kernel) Kubernetes.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • Write product or system development code.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Ensure the stability, performance, and high-availability of all virtual environments to support continuous development and testing.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to understand their requirements and continuously evolve our environment offerings with new configurations and capabilities focused on achieving feature uniformity with physical lab environments.
  • Write design and implementation for medium to large size features, including tests and integration with CI/CD.

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to delivery of the google private cloud product, by ensuring GDC-ag development and release workflows have healthy environments that mimic production closely though automation and tooling.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
