The Data Security & Resilience Manager is vital for safeguarding company data integrity, ensuring robust protection, disaster recovery, and restoration globally. Leading a team of 9 engineers, they ensure high data availability in a mission-critical environment. Beyond daily tasks, they drive modernization, implement best-in-class backup infrastructure, and align regional teams. They also bridge IT operations and business needs, maintaining service excellence, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency.
Must have:
  • Define and maintain comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).
  • Lead DR drills and ensure Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) are met.
  • Design and maintain data protection strategies including backup and replication.
  • Manage infrastructure using Veeam, NetBackup, Azure Backup, and cloud solutions.
  • Align data protection with security policies, including encryption and access controls.
  • Ensure operational readiness through cyber recovery simulations and audits.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 9 engineers and technicians.
  • Evaluate and integrate new data security and resilience technologies.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and cyber resilience frameworks.
  • Possess expertise in Veeam 12, NetBackup, and Azure Backup.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware, Windows/Linux, SAN/NAS storage, and cloud platforms.
  • Mastery of backup protocols like deduplication, snapshot, replication, and tape backup.
  • Familiarity with IT standards and best practices (ISO 27001, ITIL).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in critical situations.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in backup solutions administration.
Good to have:
  • Appreciation of DevOps culture and practices, with scripting and automation mindset (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
  • NetBackup Certified
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator

Job Description

The Data Security & Resilience Manager plays a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s data integrity, ensuring seamless data protection, disaster recovery, and restoration processes across global operations.

Tasked with leading a team of 9 dedicated engineers and technicians, they guarantee high availability and reliability of data within a mission-critical environment.

Beyond daily operations, they drive strategic modernization initiatives, implement best-in-class backup infrastructure, and maintain alignment across regional teams.

Additionally, they act as a bridge between IT operations and business needs, upholding service excellence, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery Design and Oversight

  • Responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) across global infrastructures.
  • Leads periodic DR drills and ensures Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) are met.
  • Coordinates with infrastructure, application, and security teams to align recovery strategies with business continuity goals.
  • Supervises DR capabilities through documentation, automation tools, and audit compliance.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of recovery measures and continuously enhances resilience in response to evolving threats.

Data Protection Strategy & Operations

  • Designs and maintains comprehensive data protection strategies, covering backup, replication, and long-term retention.
  • Manages infrastructure based on Veeam, NetBackup, Azure Backup, and cloud-native solutions, ensuring resilience by design.
  • Works closely with Information Security teams to align data protection measures with security policies, including encryption, immutability, and access controls.

Incident Management and Business Continuity

  • Plays a key role in the definition, testing, and continuous improvement of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).
  • Ensures operational readiness through cyber recovery simulations, audit-readiness, and RTO/RPO validation.
  • Supports risk assessments and contributes to identifying potential data-related threats, such as ransomware or data leakage.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Beyond technical oversight, the Data Security & Resilience Manager fosters a culture of excellence within their team.
  • By providing mentorship and strategic guidance, they empower engineers and technicians to excel in their roles.
  • They ensure equitable workload distribution, track team performance through key metrics, and facilitate continuous learning through tailored training programs.

Optimization and Technology Watch

  • Evaluates and integrates technologies related to immutable backup, air-gapped storage, and automated anomaly detection.
  • Maintains visibility on evolving regulatory requirements and cyber resilience frameworks (NIST, ISO 22301, DORA...).

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proven expertise in Veeam 12, NetBackup 9.xx/10.xx, and Azure Backup.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware, Windows/Linux environments, Storage (SAN/NAS), and Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Mastery of backup protocols and technologies (Deduplication, Snapshot, Replication, Tape Backup).
  • Familiarity with IT standards and best practices (ISO 27001, ITIL).
  • Appreciation of DevOps culture and practices, with scripting and automation mindset (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).

Management and Cross-functional Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in critical situations.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics.
  • Autonomy and rigor in managing projects and daily operations.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Networks, Systems, or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in backup solutions administration.
  • Preferred certifications: Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), NetBackup Certified, Microsoft Azure Administrator.
