On behalf of our client - the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the globalfinancial services industry, Starkflow is looking for talented Database Engineer to join the team Manila, Philippines.
Work type: Full-time, hybrid format (3 days onsite)
Role Overview:
As a key member of our Database Engineering team, the Database Engineer plays a crucial role as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive database administrative support across all client environments, including Development, QA, client test, as well as our critical high availability production environment and Disaster Recovery Data Centers. Additionally, your expertise will extend to supporting other database platforms such as Aurora PostgreSQL and MSSQL-Server.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and maintain software patches
- Configure and create databases
- Support various environments using the ServiceNow ticketing system
- Monitor production performance reports for anomalies
- Optimize database performance by adjusting parameters, implementing upgrades, and conducting maintenance tasks
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for critical production environments
- Participate in root cause analysis of database issues
- Develop and implement database utilities
- Conduct training sessions for users and troubleshoot issues
- Uphold organizational standards for quality service
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices through training and networking opportunities
- Share responsibility for off-hour support
- Design and implement database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies
- Integrate risk and control processes into daily operations for monitoring and risk mitigation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Oracle database versions 19c, 21c, and 22c
- Solid expertise in MSSQL Server and Aurora Postgres databases
- Proficiency in Python and Angular
- Familiarity with Oracle's GoldenGate Replication technology
- Understanding of operating systems, disk management, and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, OEM Grid Control/Cloud Control
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and other scripting languages for automation
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures
- Strong comprehension of the interplay between databases and system/application performance
