We are looking for a motivated DevOps Manager to join our Global DevOps group in India Development Center. The group is responsible for developing the next generation DevOps infrastructure along with maintaining the reliability, support and high availability of the operational environment. This position should enable the Research & Development group to use CI/CD tools, infrastructure and automations. In this role you will be a part of a Global Devops Group that is responsible for the handling on-prem and cloud initiatives, planning, executing and reporting of the various infrastructure and code projects. The DevOps manager will be part of the Strategic DevOps Group which manage, plan and execute our strategic roadmap and initiatives.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Experienced in DevOps, specializing in CICD, monitoring, branching, release processes, and managing environments.
- Skilled in overseeing both on-premises and cloud projects, covering CICD, monitoring, environment setup, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving DevOps-related issues and system problems.
- Leadership: As a DevOps Manager, you will guide and oversee the implementation of DevOps practices within the team. Your responsibilities include offering technical advice, and creating best practice standards.
- Team Management: You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, which includes hiring and onboarding new members, setting and evaluating performance goals, and supporting their professional development through mentorship and coaching. Regular feedback and performance reviews are part of the role. You'll foster a collaborative, innovative, and continuously improving team environment.
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitating collaboration between development, operations, and other teams is crucial in the DevOps practices. You should encourage open communication, foster strong relationships, and promote cross-functional teamwork.
- Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines is a core responsibility of a DevOps Manager. This involves automating the build, testing, and deployment processes to ensure efficient and error-free software delivery.
- Infrastructure and Tools: You should be well-versed in infrastructure management, cloud platforms, and relevant DevOps tools. This includes managing infrastructure as code, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), Build tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps etc)
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the team's DevOps capabilities. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with global stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and operations teams, to understand their needs, align priorities, and ensure smooth coordination and delivery of DevOps initiatives. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating effective communication and understanding
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD Systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with Networking, Linux Administrator and Windows
- Will have prior development experience (SDLC) & proven expertise as a Scrum Master
- Proven scripting skills in Bash and Python, Groovy.
- Proficiency with virtualized and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Helm and Docker).
- Hands-on experience in Agile Methodologies and respective tool chain
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters-Degree of Engineering in CS or IT or equivalent.
- Total Software Industry Experience of 12+ years
- At least 6 years experience in Building and managing production critical CI/CD systems, pipelines and solutions
- At least 3+ years leading & Managing DevOps teams large scale CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools (e.g. Azure, DevOps, Jenkins, Gradle, GIT), processes & culture.
- Proficiency in scripting, Shell/Groovy scripts, Python & Terraform.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work and coordinate between multiple teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible & Terraform)
- Familiarity with system monitoring and centralized logging platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Loki).
- Knowledge of artifact and container registry tools (e.g., Artifactory)
