NBCUniversal is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Director, Vendor Governance, reporting to the VP Strategic Technology Delivery. This role will establish and lead comprehensive vendor management practices across the technology ecosystem, driving operational excellence in third-party relationships. The successful candidate will manage vendor relationships, provide strategic and performance oversight, and balance tactical execution with strategic thinking to ensure accountability and value delivery while supporting executive-level contract negotiations and strategic partnerships.

  • Establish performance metrics and conduct regular vendor reviews to ensure delivery against scope, budget, quality, and SLAs.
  • Implement governance frameworks to track vendor performance, contract compliance, and service delivery excellence.
  • Lead vendor audits and assessments to identify optimization opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Manage vendor escalations and drive accountability across external partners, with focus on enterprise software platforms and content delivery networks.
  • Support leadership in contract negotiations by providing vendor performance data, market intelligence, and operational insights.
  • Conduct vendor assessments and due diligence to inform strategic partnership decisions.
  • Develop vendor scorecards and performance analytics to guide contract renewal and expansion discussions.
  • Provide recommendations on vendor consolidation, optimization, and strategic sourcing opportunities.
  • Lead vendor rationalization initiatives to eliminate redundant relationships and optimize vendor ecosystem.
  • Partner with VP Strategic Tech Delivery and SVP Procurement on vendor strategy and contract lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and operational teams to ensure unified vendor governance standards.
  • Coordinate SOW management and payment processing workflows to optimize vendor spend and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Build relationships across the organization to drive adoption of vendor management best practices.
  • Create scalable vendor management frameworks that support organizational growth.
  • Develop standardized processes for vendor onboarding, performance monitoring, and relationship management.
  • Establish operational workflows that enable strategic decision-making and knowledge transfer.
  • Streamline vendor management operations across multiple business units.
  • 8+ years progressive experience in vendor management, strategic partnerships, technology operations or similar.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports or matrix management responsibility.
  • Experience driving governance authority and organizational change in complex environments.
  • Proven expertise in technology vendor management, preferably in media, entertainment, broadcast, or high-technology industries.
  • Strong track record of SLA management, vendor performance optimization, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to balance operational execution with strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will serve as the operational backbone for our vendor ecosystem, managing vendor relationships while providing strategic and performance oversight. This role requires balancing tactical execution with strategic thinking, ensuring accountability and value delivery across all engagements while supporting executive-level contract negotiations and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational vendor strategies aligned with technology roadmap and business objectives
