This is a contract position based out of Argentina
Authorization to work in Argentina is a precondition of employment.
Formatting and Layout: Apply design and formatting to translated content across various languages, ensuring consistency with the source document and client specifications.
File Preparation: Prepare files for translation by extracting and formatting content in required formats, including InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and others.
Localization: Adapt and localize visual elements such as images, graphs, charts, and documents to fit target languages and regional requirements.
Software Utilization: Use DTP tools such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, FrameMaker, QuarkXPress, or other desktop publishing software to produce high-quality localized documents.
Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed QA checks to ensure the final output is free of errors, adheres to client guidelines, and meets industry standards.
Troubleshooting: Resolve issues related to fonts, layout, image compatibility, and other design aspects that may arise due to language changes or technical constraints.
Collaboration: Work closely with translators, project managers, and engineers to ensure seamless integration of content into the final design.
Version Control: Maintain organized records of multiple versions of the same document to ensure accuracy in project delivery.
File Conversion: Convert between different file formats as required by the project, maintaining fidelity to the original layout.
Communication: Provide clear communication regarding design adjustments, limitations, and timelines with internal teams and clients.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in desktop publishing, preferably in an LSP or localization environment.
Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in DTP tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for visual design and layout consistency, ensuring high-quality, error-free output.
Language Skills: Experience working with multilingual content and an understanding of language-specific DTP challenges (e.g., character spacing, right-to-left text, non-Latin scripts).
File Management: Proficiency in handling and organizing multiple file types, formats, and large datasets.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to formatting and design.
Time Management: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education: Degree or certification in Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, or a related field is preferred.
Localization Knowledge: Familiarity with translation memory tools such as SDL Trados Studio, memoQ, or Wordfast.
International Experience: Previous experience working on projects with multilingual and multicultural elements.
Multilingual Skills: Fluency in additional languages is a plus, though not required.
