Job Description

This Electrical Engineer II role at Shield AI involves contributing to and owning circuit board and system designs for next-generation aircraft, encompassing analog, digital, power, RF, MCU, FPGA, sensing, and communication hardware. Responsibilities include executing design assignments from inception to production, managing project schedules, conducting design reviews, and performing schematic capture, modeling, simulation, analysis, and testing. The role requires cross-functional engagement with various teams and involvement in HALT execution, automated production test solutions, and hardware bring-up and debugging.
Must have:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1+ years of Electrical Engineer experience
  • Experienced with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection
  • Experienced with circuit testing and debugging

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to and own circuit board and system designs in next generation aircraft. This includes analog, digital, power, RF, MCU, FPGA, sensing, communications, and all other aspects of hardware development. You will design for automated system control, high-reliability, radiation, and high-altitude performance
  • Execute design assignments from inception through production
  • Manage project schedule and deliverables
  • Conduct and attend cross-functional design reviews
  • Be responsible for schematic capture, modeling, simulation, analysis, and testing
  • Engage cross functionally with software, mechanical, embedded, CAD, production, users, and all other relevant teams
  • Execute HALT on your hardware designs
  • Help develop automated production test solutions
  • Bringup, Root-Cause and debug assistance for multiple designs

Required qualifications:

  • You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • You have 1+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • You are experienced with: circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging
  • You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
  • Familiarity with Altium or equivalent
