As an Experienced Programmer, you will expand your technical skills and collaborate with teams to enhance your programming expertise. You will work closely with game designers and other disciplines, contributing to the development of high-quality code systems and innovative solutions for games. The role involves working with diverse technologies, embracing creative freedom, and contributing to Scrum meetings. The studio offers a collaborative, open-minded environment that values work-life balance and team wellbeing. The company recently received a GOLD Award in Mind Charity’s Workplace Wellbeing Index.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of gaming industry experience in C++ or C#.
  • Proven debugging and critical thinking skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with C# and Unity.
  • Experience with other engines such as Lumberyard and Unreal.
  • Experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with Cloud services such as PlayFab and GameSparks.
  • Modern console platform experience.

Third Kind Games - a Virtuos Studio, is a world-class co-development games studio. Third Kind Games was founded in 2016 by a team of nine former Activision veterans and became a Virtuos Studio in 2024.

Role Overview

You enjoy:

  • Working with a highly experienced team on all areas of the game development.
  • Using your passion for gaming, you will design, plan and develop high quality code systems, working closely with the game designers and other disciplines to realise their visions.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to contribute to Scrum meetings and create innovative solutions for our games.

You would:

  • Enjoy working with a lot of different technologies and have a keen desire to learn new ones.
  • Be motivated by creative freedom, ground-breaking initiatives and unknown territory.
  • Prefer a creative, open-thinking environment, over one managed through specs and have a passion for working on a wide variety of tasks.
  • Be able to work alone and also as part of a team, whilst knowing when to ask for advice from your colleagues.

Skills you need

  • 3+ years' gaming industry experience in C++ or C#.
  • Proven debugging and critical thinking skills.

Experience with:
