Scout Motors is seeking a Feature Owner for Parking Systems to revolutionize the electric pickup truck and rugged SUV market. This role involves designing, developing, calibrating, and testing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for parking features in Scout's electric vehicles. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, conducting feasibility studies and simulations, ensuring proper sensor packaging, and participating in system-level testing and validation. The ideal candidate will stay updated on ADAS advancements and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement. Must have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE, ME, CS, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in ADAS development (automotive preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of parking sensors and automated parking features.
  • Experience with calibration, integration, or validation for parking applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
Good to have:
  • Experience with sensor packaging and/or validation.
  • Familiarity with development, simulation, and testing tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 26262, SAE J3016, FMVSS).
  • Experience conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA).

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Design, develop, calibrate and test advanced driver assistance systems for Scout’s electric vehicles, focusing on features related to the parking systems. From base park assist to automated parking, you’ll be the Scout expert on SW functions and hardware.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams including electrical engineers, software developers, data scientists, and validation engineers to define system requirements and integrate ADAS parking features into Scout’s EV platform to ensure class leading performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototyping to evaluate and refine ADAS algorithms and architectures, ensuring accuracy and safety of the parking features.
  • Ensure proper sensor positioning and packaging to meet performance expectations of advanced driver assistance parking systems
  • Participate in system-level testing, validation, and verification of ADAS features, including real-world testing and data analysis to validate system performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in ADAS technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
  • The responsibilities of this role require 3-4 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in ADAS development, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of parking sensors, automated parking features, preferred experiences include sensor packaging and/or validation of parking sensors and automated parking.
  • Experience with calibration, integration, or validation of features and software for parking applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and tools for development, simulation, and testing (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, JIRA, and Confluence).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify system issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and legislative regulations (e.g. ISO 26262, SAE J3016, FMVSS) and experience in conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present technical information, and influence decision-making processes.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated in a dynamic environment.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $132,500.00
