As a Fullstack Senior Software Engineer on the Search Content Platform (SCP) team at Google, you'll contribute to the core of Google Search. SCP merges diverse data sources to deliver superior search experiences. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and resolving system issues. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, impacting billions globally. This role requires strong full-stack development skills, experience with large-scale systems, and a passion for improving search experiences. The ideal candidate is a versatile leader, comfortable tackling diverse challenges across the entire stack.

  • 5+ years software development experience
  • 3+ years front-end framework experience
  • 3+ years full-stack or API development
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
