Job Description

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and company expectations. Key duties involve moving and securing lumber, stacking finished products according to specifications, and accurately labeling materials by type, size, and count. The role also includes applying individual tags, using a staple gun, and banding/bundling materials. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, assisting other teams, and participating in safety programs are essential aspects of this position.
Must have:
  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials
  • Stack finished products according to bundle sizes and customer requirements
  • Label material based on type, size, and count
  • Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
  • Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Record production on production sheets
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
Good to have:
  • Manufacturing or lumber experience
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • High school diploma/GED

  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
