Job Details

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

We’re looking for a dynamic, experienced leader to join our team as the Global Head of Strategic Growth. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead a global team laser-focused on expanding and deepening relationships with Adyen’s most strategic clients. You are a proven dealmaker with a sharp commercial instinct—someone who knows how to unlock new revenue, navigate complexity, and negotiate high-stakes deals that deliver long-term value for both the client and Adyen.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience scaling existing accounts, managing executive-level enterprise relationships, and executing strategic expansion initiatives with measurable business outcomes. You know how to work cross-functionally to unblock and accelerate deals, and you thrive in a role where influence, commercial creativity, and closing power are key.

You will oversee the development and execution of a global growth strategy, collaborating closely with product, commercial, legal, and operations teams to drive revenue expansion, deepen merchant relationships, and ensure client success. As a senior leader, you’ll mentor and scale a high-performing team of strategic growth managers, aligning the group with Adyen’s broader business ambitions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead strategic expansion initiatives: Own the development and execution of strategies to increase share-of-wallet with Adyen’s key enterprise clients. Use a deal-driven mindset to identify and close high-value growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Manage and scale a global team: Lead a team of 10+ professionals, including regional team leads, fostering a high-performance culture that thrives on commercial results. Provide coaching, support, and strategic guidance to help your team close impactful deals.
  • Build and nurture senior client relationships: Operate as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and senior leaders at global enterprises. Create new forums for collaboration and unlock new value streams by engaging stakeholders at every level.
  • Define and align strategy: Work closely with global stakeholders to ensure the team’s strategy aligns with Adyen’s broader commercial and product goals. Shape our go-to-market expansion plan for strategic accounts.
  • Drive global revenue growth: Spearhead complex, high-value negotiations that require cross-functional coordination, pricing creativity, and senior influence. Structure deals that accelerate mutual growth and deepen long-term partnerships.
  • Improve operational effectiveness: Identify friction in the deal cycle and implement scalable processes to streamline execution. Share playbooks and insights globally to uplevel team capabilities and consistency.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic commercial roles with a focus on enterprise clients, business development, and account growth.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing and scaling high-performing, global teams with a strong track record of delivering revenue.
  • Strong background in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or account management, with direct experience closing complex, multi-party deals.
  • Payments experience is a must — you understand the levers of value and risk in enterprise payments and how to shape a compelling commercial story.
  • A seasoned negotiator and skilled dealmaker with a proven ability to close high-stakes, multi-million-dollar agreements.
  • Comfortable influencing across senior levels internally and externally, with the ability to align competing priorities and drive to yes.
  • You think commercially and act decisively, balancing strategic vision with executional horsepower in a fast-moving, evolving market.
