Job Summary
Job Description
As a Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager at Google, you'll be part of a global team advocating for Google's interests. Responsibilities include identifying policy issues impacting Google's business and users, participating in policy campaigns, monitoring relevant public policy issues, collaborating with internal teams (Legal, Marketing, etc.), developing and executing policy strategies, and addressing government relations challenges. You'll need strong communication and political skills to work with policymakers and allied organizations. The role requires fluency in Turkish and English and experience in policy analysis, campaigns, and government relations within technology or related sectors.
Must have:
- 7+ years policy analysis & campaign experience
- Government/think tank/industry experience
- Fluency in Turkish and English
- Excellent communication & political skills
- Policy strategy development & execution
Good to have:
- Public Policy/Admin/International Relations degree
- Experience in high-pressure environments
- Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy
- Excellent networking & executive-level communication

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, with working on technology issues or the policy environments.
- 7 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
- Ability to communicate in Turkish and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Experience in pressure work environment with excellent decision-making skills.
- Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
- Ability to deliver projects, ensuring completion and being self-supporting.
- Excellent networking skills with the ability to guide campaigns and represent Google with executive policymakers.
- Excellent political, investigative, communication, and government relations skills.

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.Responsibilities
- Identify policy issues that may affect Google and understand the impact on Google business and users, and participate in policy campaigns with clear goals to shape a policy or set of policies.
- Monitor and research current and relevant emerging public policy issues considering how Google should work with allied organizations and industries and work with business-area leadership, Legal, Marketing, Trust and Safety, and Public Relation (PR) to develop and launch policy-friendly products.
- Address policy and government relations problems, and develop and execute policy strategy in a way that benefits the users and business.
