General Arcade is seeking a Graphics Rendering Engineer to implement and optimize graphics rendering pipelines for classic video game ports on PC and modern consoles like PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. The role involves working under the Lead Rendering Engineer and contributing to cutting-edge industry technologies within a team of 45 people. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity across various platforms, including action, shooter, and RPG genres. They will utilize their C++ development skills and knowledge of shader languages and graphics algorithms to enhance the gaming experience. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Graphics Rendering Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Lead Rendering Engineer and will be responsible for implementing and optimizing graphics rendering pipelines and features for our classic video game port to PC and modern consoles such as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch.

What kind of professional are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field;
  • 3+ years of experience in C++ development;
  • Knowledge of one of the shader languages (e.g. HLSL, GLSL, Cg);
  • Knowledge of basic graphics algorithms;
  • Experience with console development is a plus;
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques is a plus.

The selection process

If there are any public pet projects, a link to the repository is welcome. The first step of the selection process is an interview via Skype/Google Meet/etc. The interview would involve questions about C++, data structures, and graphics rendering algorithms and techniques. The test task depends on the interview result.
