Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Grinding Room Filer to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring the precision and quality of metal components through grinding, inspection, and finishing processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and a sharp eye for detail. As a Grinding Room Filer, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining tools, including sharpening and inspecting surfaces to determine the appropriate grinding techniques and equipment.
Must have:
  • Set up and operate grinding and polishing machines for metal work pieces
  • Inspect, measure, and finish surfaces to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform routine maintenance
  • Read and interpret blueprints to plan grinding procedures and machine setups
  • Apply coolants and solutions to equipment and workpieces as needed
  • File, smooth, and assemble metal components using hand tools
  • Identify and remove defective pieces; prepare finished products
  • Sharpening Saws and Moulder knives
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience in grinding, machining, or metal fabrication
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Solid understanding of basic math and mechanical principles
  • Familiarity with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate grinding and polishing machines for metal work pieces
  • Inspect, measure, and finish surfaces to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform routine maintenance
  • Read and interpret blueprints to plan grinding procedures and machine setups
  • Apply coolants and solutions to equipment and workpieces as needed
  • File, smooth, and assemble metal components using hand tools
  • Identify and remove defective pieces; prepare finished products
  • Sharpening Saws and Moulder knives

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 hourly. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by experience and other job-related factors.

Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
