Job Description

As a key member of the Validation team, you will ensure Axon products and systems have robust designs and meet quality and reliability standards. You will execute Validation Test Procedures focused on quality, reliability, and durability, test key aspects of the system, document results, and identify issues. You'll work with R&D Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain. You will perform various validation tests including thermal cycling, drop/impact tests, and vibration, document test results in JIRA and Excel logs, and assist in root cause investigations.
Must have:
  • 2-3 years of product test experience.
  • Strong focus on environmental testing.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technology issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity with Product Development Life Cycle.

Your Impact

As a key member of our Validation team, your work will be essential in helping us ensure Axon products and systems have robust designs and continue to meet Quality & Reliability standards. We will look to you to execute our ValidationTest Procedures that test key aspects of the system with a focus on quality, reliability and durability. Your technical expertise will be key in executing tests, identifying issues and document results. You will be working with R&D Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain, which will offer you the opportunity to interact with different levels in our dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.

What You’ll Do

Location: Phoenix, AZ 
Reports to: Supervisor, Test Execution

The Hardware Test Technician will perform the set-up and execution of a wide variety of validation tests. This would include assembling fixtures, set up of equipment, running various test and maintain lab organization. The Validation Test Technician will also document test results and help prepare technical reports for new and legacy products.

  • Perform various validation tests including thermal cycling, drop/impact test, & vibration
  • Document test results in JIRA and Excel logs detailing failure conditions and response levels to aid in product robustness investigations.
  • Working with engineering teams in root cause investigations


What You Bring

  • Two to three (2-3) years of product test experience with a strong focus on environmental testing (Temperature, Vibration, Shock etc), Mechanical testing (Instron, MTS etc), Thermal testing of Electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technology and data related issues at a system level
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented working methodology
  • Familiarity with the Product Development Life Cycle
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a test lab environment
  • Must have exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Experience with identifying, documenting, and reporting bugs
  • Ability to execute Test Plans that focus on Hardware testing
