Your Role with Us
As the Head of Internal Audit, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing our company's internal audit framework. Your responsibilities will include designing and establishing audit processes and policies, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will lead a small team of internal auditors, starting with one team member and with plans to grow the team as needed. Your role will involve collaborating with various departments and reporting directly to senior executives to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. This position requires a strong leader with extensive experience in internal audit, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings to senior management and executives. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our company's integrity and achieving our business objectives.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute a risk-based audit plan tailored to our scale-up phase, focusing on internal controls, operational processes, and regulatory compliance in the iGaming industry.
  • Utilise risk management expertise to identify and prioritise key risks, particularly in our expanding operations.
  • Lead audit planning and strategy, including risk assessment and guidance on key initiatives.
  • Design and implement testing strategies to identify control gaps and ensure effective business controls.
  • Manage and mentor a team of internal auditors, overseeing their training and performance.
  • Conduct audits across various departments, including finance, operations, and IT, as well as perform regulatory audits to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and industry standards.
  • Assess and review policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial and operational information.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans, focusing on regulatory compliance and significant issues.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and verify corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting the iGaming sector.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Oversee Audit Committee and executive management reporting, and prepare presentations as needed.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., Chartered Accountant/CPA, Certified Internal Auditor).
  • 10+ years of audit and risk management experience, including experience with 'Big 4' firms
  • Proven experience with boards, senior management, external auditors, and regulators.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO), and auditing standards (e.g., IIA Standards).

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience working in the iGaming industry, with a solid understanding of its unique regulatory requirements and operational challenges.
  • Sports & Gambling knowledge advantageous
  • Cryptocurrency knowledge would be advantageous
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Spreadsheets, Docs), Slack, Jira

About The Company
