Job Description
The Head of Quantitative Research & Analysis role involves leading a quantitative investment research team to identify, model, and develop successful trading strategies across centralized and decentralized crypto exchanges and options markets. Key responsibilities include designing high-frequency trading strategies, collaborating with the development team, conducting backtesting, developing analytical tools, managing trading risk, executing trades, monitoring auto trading strategies, and communicating market updates. The role requires leading a team and contributing to the growth of digital asset trading.
Must have:
- Master's or PhD in a related field with a Bachelor's Degree preferably in financial services.
- 10+ years of experience in quantitative analysis or trading within financial markets.
- Positive track record with a portfolio of cryptocurrency investments totaling INR50Cr or USD10m.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Alpha-generating research methodologies and approaches.
- Proficiencies with programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, Go, MATLAB, and R.
- Familiarity with Tick by Tick Data (TBT) and in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Strong proficiency in MS-Excel with exceptional numerical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying trading opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Ability to effectively lead a team of researchers and monitor progress and activity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle confidential information.

Your role:
THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION ON-SITE BASED OUT OF OUR KOLKATA OFFICE.
This is a leadership position of our quantitative investment research team where you'll be at the forefront of identifying, modeling, and developing successful trading strategies across both centralized and decentralized crypto exchanges and options markets. You will drive our mission to capitalize on trading opportunities, optimize performance, and mitigate risk in the ever-evolving cryptocurrency landscape and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital asset trading. Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Conceptualizing and Conducting comprehensive research to design high to low-frequency trading strategies tailored to cryptocurrency and options markets.
- Collaborating closely with our development team to implement and fine-tune trading strategies, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conducting rigorous backtesting and maintaining the ongoing performance of trading strategies.
- Developing sophisticated analytical tools to enhance strategy analysis and decision-making processes.
- Managing trading risk and ensuring the seamless operation and uptime of internal software and trade processes.
- Engaging with various OTC teams to execute trades and fulfill trading requirements.
- Monitoring auto trading strategies, swiftly addressing discrepancies, and reporting findings to senior management.
- Maintaining open communication with team leads for market updates, technical insights, and operational instructions.
Our needs:
- A Master's or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields, with a Bachelor's Degree preferably within financial services or technology-related disciplines.
- 10+ years of proven prior experience in quantitative analysis, trading, or market making within financial markets in a leadership role within an HFT or a combination of HFT and banks/fund management companies.
- Have a positive track record and a verifiable history of handling a portfolio of cryptocurrency investments (or Derivatives -Futures & Options & Spots) totaling either INR50Cr, or USD10m or; or a career threshold of INR 100Cr in P&L achieved.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Alpha-generating research methodologies and approaches.
- Proficiencies with programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, Go, MATLAB, and R, with a focus on real-time data analysis.
- Familiarity with Tick by Tick Data (TBT), market microstructures and an in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and statistical concepts, applied in trading contexts.
- Strong proficiency in MS-Excel, coupled with exceptional numerical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying trading opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Ability to effectively lead a team of researchers and monitor progress and activity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.
