Job Description

As Head of Sales for Google Workspace for Public Sector, you'll lead a team responsible for growing the Productivity and Collaboration business. This involves building and expanding customer relationships, collaborating with internal stakeholders (Field Sales, Customer Engineering, etc.), and ensuring the team possesses the necessary selling skills. You'll develop go-to-market plans focusing on revenue, customer growth, and retention, partnering with various teams to enhance customer experience. Responsibilities include managing an account management team, developing go-to-market strategies, and expanding relationships to influence long-term strategic direction. You'll inspire executives at prospective customers to partner with Google and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
Must have:
  • 12+ years enterprise software/cloud sales experience
  • SaaS/IaaS/PaaS sales experience
  • Leadership experience in quota-carrying teams
  • Manage and grow sales teams
  • Develop and own go-to-market plans
Good to have:
  • People and business management experience

Job Details


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in a sales role in the enterprise software or cloud space.
  • Experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Productivity, or Collaboration technology solutions to clients.
  • Leadership experience within a quota-carrying team, such as people management, team lead, mentorship or coaching.

Preferred qualifications:

  • People and business management experience, supporting career development of a high performing sales team and business growth.
  • Experience planning and organizing go-to-market strategies, business programs, and sales activity within your team and territory.
  • Experience leveraging knowledge of relevant products, solutions, and market trends, with the analytical abilities to analyze sales performance data or market changes, to drive strategic direction.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams to impact business goals, customer experience, and customer expansion.
  • Experience developing product and solution messaging, narratives, and value propositions.

As a Head of Sales for Google Workspace for Public Sector, you will lead a team responsible for growing our Productivity and Collaboration business by building and expanding relationships with new and existing customers. You will effectively build relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Field Sales, Customer Engineering, Solution Architecture, Product) and customers, supporting the team to do the same. You will ensure your team has the necessary selling skills to demonstrate product functionality and comprehensive overviews of key business use cases, and close business. You will support a positive, high-performing, and inclusive team culture, while leading with empathy and identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team as a whole to drive overall value for Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an account management team focused on executive-level engagements coupled with scale and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and own the go-to-market plan to scale and impact your business in key areas, including Revenue, Net New Customer Growth, Customer Expansion and Retention, and Customer Referenceability.
  • Partner with Field Sales, Marketing, Customer Engineering, Customer Success, Channels, Product, and Engineering to understand customers’ voice, impact messaging and collateral, and provide excellent prospect and customer experience.
  • Expand relationships to influence long-term strategic direction and be a trusted advisor to your team and their accounts. Inspire executives at prospective customers to partner with Google.
