What we need:

We’re seeking a highly motivated and collaborative HR teammate to keep our HR department organized and our processes running smoothly, as well as provide a best-in-class human resources experience to our culture-first studio employees. You will participate in, coordinate and drive onboarding/offboarding activities, payroll processes, benefits administration, HRIS workflows and support the studios efforts around policies, procedures, benefits, growth management, and other initiatives. Through thorough and thoughtful research, you will support employee queries, issues and concerns in a values aligned fashion and will be a champion of studio culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out processes related to the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, New Hire Orientation, bi-weekly payroll and timecard process, employee changes, relocations, offboarding, etc.
  • Partner with Studio and Corporate Partners (Talent Acquisitions, Benefits, Payroll, L&D, Compensation, Legal) to best respond to employees’ queries, issues, and concerns
  • Utilize company HRIS systems to accurately process documentation, enter data, maintain records and perform background checks and employment authorizations in a timely manner.
  • Support rollout and training of HR initiatives/programs and tools/platforms, such as growth management, corrective action, learning & development, etc.
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding benefits, compensation, or other company policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
  • Escalate simple to complex employee relations issues or move to resolution,  if appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support to the People Operations team (HR, WEX, Culture), as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to special projects, ad hoc reporting
  • Monitor processes and employee experience and make recommendations for improvements.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2+ years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years prior work experience in an HR organization and strong HR skills highly preferred
  • Ideal candidates will have prior experience and understanding of  human resources principles and practices, including but not limited to wage and hour, employment law, safety, and EEO compliance
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and workflow, completing projects on or ahead of schedule
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals and cultures at all organizational levels
  • Must be resourceful and intuitive when information is not readily available (know where to go to seek answers or get to the next step by considering previous learnings).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Carefully handle confidential and sensitive information pertaining to employee data and employee and management issues.
  • Very proficient computer and internet user. Very strong skills on Microsoft Office Suite – advanced Excel skills a plus and Google Drive Suite
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems/databases such as Workday a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Consistent with a desk job in a normal office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $78,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
