The Human Resources Specialist with Media Production Knowledge will contribute to the operations of the HR department by implementing HR strategies, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with regulations, specializing in roles within media production and PR. Additionally, this role requires a unique blend of traditional HR skills and a strong understanding of media production processes. This position is ideal for a candidate who not only has a background in HR but also possesses knowledge in media production, enabling them to support and understand the unique needs of creative teams and projects within the organization. This is an onsite position in NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Leadership: Lead recruitment efforts for all roles, crafting compelling job ads and identifying candidates well-suited for media production, PR, and other areas.
- Collaborative Support: Collaborate with department managers to understand HR needs, providing tailored support for both Production and PR Departments..
- HR Program Management: Manage and execute HR programs and policies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Policy Advisement: Advise managers on organizational policies, recommending necessary changes for improvement.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits, handle change reporting, and communicate benefit details, staying attuned to trends within media production and related sectors.
- Evaluation Program Development: Develop, analyze, and update the company’s evaluation program to ensure effective performance assessments.
- Policy Revision: Revise and recommend personnel policies and procedures, maintaining an up-to-date company handbook.
- Exit Interview Analysis: Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate department records and reports.
- Meeting Participation: Participate in administrative meetings, seminars, and staff gatherings.
- Directory Maintenance: Keep the company directory and organizational charts current.
- Process Improvement: Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and service quality.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review policies to maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Coursework or experience in media studies, communication, or a similar area is preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of human resource management experience, with a proven ability to manage recruitment and understand role requirements across various departments, including media production.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
- Legal Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Media Production Familiarity: Familiarity with the creative and technical aspects of media production roles.
- HR Systems Experience: Experience with diverse human resource information systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective interaction across different departments.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 Annually
