Position Summary: In-Person Technical Interpreter (Korean/English)

The Translator position is an integral part of our team, responsible for bridging linguistic gaps and ensuring seamless communication in the technical realm of game development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide precise interpretation services between Korean and English, maintaining the technical meaning, tone, and context of the original message.
  • Conduct consecutive interpretation during technical discussions, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Translate a variety of written material such as reports, design documents, and technical specifications, maintaining the content, context and style of the original material to the greatest extent possible.
  • Perform consecutive interpretation during technical conferences or events within the gaming industry.
  • Possessing a deep understanding of Korean and English cultures within the gaming context, ensure idiomatic expressions align with the industry standards.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, maintaining the privacy of sensitive and proprietary gaming material during conversations and in documentation.
  • Uphold professionalism, ethics, and integrity while representing gaming-related materials in the organization.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, language development, and gaming-specific subject matter, contributing to the ever-evolving language of game development.


Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken Korean and English, with a focus on technical terminology in the gaming industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for precise interpretation in a technical environment.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced gaming settings, ensuring real-time and accurate interpretation.
  • Detail-oriented, with an understanding of the critical importance of accuracy in technical discussions.


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in translation or interpretation with a focus on gaming or software development.
  • Previous professional experience in translation within the gaming industry or software development, showcasing expertise in technical language.
  • Experience with gaming logistics would be a valuable asset.
