##### About the role

The successful candidate will lead all aspects of indirect tax compliance and planning, reporting directly to the Head of Tax (based out of CA, US).

##### What you will do

• Indirect tax (VAT / GST / property tax) compliance, specifically ensuring the quality/accuracy of indirect tax filings, and the timely submission of all filings in EMEA and APAC.
• Oversee the process /review month-end journal entries and GL reconciliations.
• Automating internal indirect tax functions and processes using technology.
• Assisting with setting up end-to-end systems and processes for collecting indirect tax in new jurisdictions.
• Partner with IT on system configuration to determine the indirect tax treatment of new product lines.
• Partner with IT on system design, configuration, and implementation with respect to Business to Government reporting requirements e.g., SAF-T, SII, e-invoicing, etc.
• Lead the company in the end-to-end implementation process for e-invoicing compliance in Europe and beyond.
• Advise business on indirect tax aspects of new business ventures, contracts, M&A, etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and educate on indirect tax issues, requirements, opportunities, and risks.
• Partner with IT and tax engine providers to assist with system testing and implementation of system updates to accommodate new product lines, tax registrations and/or new tax requirements.
• Automating policies and processes in the context of the company's growth to mitigate risks and help ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Lead an existing team of two professionals.
• Manage relationships with service providers, including optimization of costs.
• Manage end-to-end controversy process.

##### Who you are and what you bring

• 10+ years of transaction tax / indirect tax experience including technology experience.
• Big 4 experience ideal and prior in-house industry experience is a plus
• Experience with ERP systems and tax engines and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Avalara), including configurations to ensure appropriate transaction-level reporting
• Experience with automating indirect tax compliance processes is a plus, e.g. Alteryx, robotics
• Experience in accounting for indirect tax activities under US GAAP principles
• Continuous improvement mindset to bring best practices and efficiencies to flex with growing requirements
• Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion autonomously
• Indirect tax-specific qualifications preferred
• Willingness to work from the office as and when required
