At Illumina, an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for successfully positioning and selling the company's genomic products within a specific geographic region. The role involves engaging and qualifying new and existing customers, positioning Illumina products to provide solutions for their projects and business needs, and partnering closely with internal and field sales teams to achieve common sales objectives. This position offers the opportunity to work with leading academic institutions, research centers, and corporate organizations worldwide, leveraging scientific knowledge and laboratory experience.
Must have:
  • Develop a strong understanding of Illumina's technology and products.
  • Establish and execute strategies to acquire new customers and retain/grow existing customer accounts.
  • Support the field sales team to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Respond to incoming calls to address customer requests.
  • Network with existing and potential customers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Partner with internal and field teams to generate quotes, process orders, update systems, and generate reports.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations.
  • Have the ability to learn, adapt, and gain from each experience.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
  • Manage post-sale customer relationships.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.
  • Solid foundation in Genetics and Molecular Biology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field.
Good to have:
  • 2+ years of experience in a life sciences laboratory, sales role, or related field with customer-facing experience.
  • Experience with strategic sales skills with a proven ability to develop and grow key accounts.
  • Effective, professional, and comfortable presentations to clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
  • Self-motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding.
  • A demonstrated desire to be an effective collaborator within a team-based sales environment.
  • Willingness to provide and seek feedback from teammates.
  • Strong desire to "win" and build relationships with clients.
  • Approach tasks with urgency. Willingness to plan, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
  • A postgraduate degree.

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for successfully positioning and selling the company's products in a professional and creative manner within a specific geographic region. The job involves engaging and qualifying new and existing customers, positioning Illumina products to provide solutions for their projects and business needs, and partnering closely with other internal teams and field sales team members to achieve common sales objectives. The ISR role is both exciting and challenging, as you have the opportunity to work with leading academic institutions, research centers, and corporate organizations worldwide, leveraging your scientific knowledge and laboratory experience while selling products for the world leader in genomics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Illumina's technology and products and continue to learn as the Illumina product portfolio evolves.
  • Establish and execute strategies to acquire new customers and retain/grow existing customer accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Support the field sales team to ensure customer demands are met in a timely manner.
  • Respond to incoming calls to address customer requests, such as quotes, product information, and product pricing and availability.
  • Network with existing and potential customers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Partner with internal and field teams to generate quotes, process orders, update systems, and generate reports.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations to establish mutually beneficial circumstances for both the customer and Illumina.
  • Have the ability to learn, adapt, and gain from each experience to become more effective in subsequent sales scenarios. • Work effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
  • Manage post-sale customer relationships, including a strategy for developing repeat and long-term business relationships.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
  • Solid foundation in Genetics and Molecular Biology to enable a better understanding of the wide range of customer applications in order to uncover sales potential.
  • 2+ years of experience in a life sciences laboratory, sales role, or related field with customer-facing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with strategic sales skills with a proven ability to develop and grow key accounts is preferred.
  • Effective, professional, and comfortable presentations to clients, colleagues, and management are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods is preferred.
  • Self-motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding within the role.
  • A demonstrated desire to be an effective collaborator within a team-based sales environment and a willingness to provide and seek feedback from teammates.
  • Strong desire to "win" and build relationships with clients.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
