Job Description

Western Digital is seeking an Intern Test Engineer currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to understand Mechanical Yield failure modes, exploring new data analytics techniques, and performing process improvements and failure analysis. The intern will propose process improvements to enhance process control on yield detractors and interlock with other engineering teams during process improvement execution. Good To Have:
  • Background in Failure Analysis (FA)
  • Familiarity with statistical tools and data science techniques
  • Knowledge of HDD and SDET processes
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Experience or coursework in Failure Analysis (FA)
  • Proficiency in SAS and JMP for data analysis
Must Have:
  • Pursuing Bachelor's in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Perform Mechanical Yield process improvements and Failure Analysis (FA)

Job Description

  • Collect, analyze, interpret data to understand Mechanical Yield failure modes.
  • Explore new data analytics techniques to solve issues.  
  • Performs Mechanical Yield process improvements and FA.
  • Propose process improvements to improve Process Control on Yield  detractors.
  • Interlock with other engineering during process improvement execution

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) or Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Failure Analysis (FA)

  • Familiarity with statistical tools and data science techniques

  • Knowledge of HDD and SDET processes is an advantage

  • Strong data analytics skills

Technical Skills:

  • Experience or coursework in Failure Analysis (FA)

  • Proficiency in SAS and JMP for data analysis
