This role is based on Disney's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.
As Maintenance Technician – Electrician / IT, you will perform maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. You will operate a variety of equipment and machinery including saws, drill presses and hand/power tools. You will also interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches and work orders to perform maintenance activities. You will be perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of electrical systems, including hot water heaters, and boilers, walk-in coolers / freezers, under counter refrigeration, ice machines, and all electrical components related to outboards, engines, and wave runners.
You will report to the Assistant Manager – Island General Maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Your Responsibilities – How You Will Make a Difference
- Troubleshoot and provide maintenance in all phases of electrical equipment on the island
- Install and maintain industrial, residential, and commercial electrical equipment and systems, including CCTV and register elements
- Install and configure computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems
- Promote a safe work environment; Comply with the safety competencies and all company policies
- May provide lateral service to other departments
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications – What You Will Bring to the Team
- Legally authorized to work in The Bahamas
- 3 or more years electrician experience; Diploma or certificate supporting training as an electrician, Computer Science or Information Technology
- Knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials common to the electrician trade
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrician trade
- Experience using trade tools to troubleshoot complex electrical problems including multi meter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, other tools
- Estimate time and material needs
- This is a field service position that may include work from ladders, elevated platforms and working in confined spaces
