Java Technical Lead - GDK

Aristocrat has a huge portfolio of exciting and highly successful games, enjoyed by millions of players around the world. We strive to make our games the best in the industry but also focus on making the development process as fast and pain free as possible. Most of our games have been developed by our in-house Game Studios using a range of different technologies.

We’re looking for a Java Technical Lead to develop features and tooling for the backend of our Games Development Kit (GDK). The GDK is our innovative platform which enables games studios to create exciting world class games.

As a Technical Lead, you will become a technical domain expert in the GDK platform. You will work closely with the Technical Architects to design and consider how to best deliver our features and improve our platform. You will be a technical expert who will guide the development teams, helping them deliver good quality solutions and improve their technical standards. As a core part of the business, you can expect to be working with games studios internationally, who will be delivering their games to the player via the GDK platform.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical support and guidance within the GDK Teams
• Develop and maintain tools to support Games Studios
• Champion the Games Dev Kit (GDK) environment and documentation for internal studios to build games on the platform.
• Mentor and support members of GDK team to develop their technical abilities
• Carry out technical reviews to ensure technical expectations are met and guidelines followed
• Ensure technical documents are accurate and up to date
• Continuously improve the technical processes
• Work with the team to ensure the Technical Architects vision is met.
• Highlight and act upon technical risks.

What We're Looking For

·       Extensive experience with Server-side Core Java Development

·       Spring and Spring Boot Framework

·       Testing Practices (TDD, unit, integration, functional, and performance testing)

·       Maven and Git

·       Technical Leadership and Mentorship

·       Documentation and Process Improvement

·       Containerization and Orchestration (Kubernetes and Docker)

·       RESTful API Development
