As a Junior Java Developer, you will be part of Endava's largest discipline, designing, building, and releasing software products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, understand client requirements, and apply new technologies, contributing to innovation and business transformation.
Must have:
  • Develop software components following IT industry standards.
  • Participate in all activities of application development.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Escalate risks, issues, and concerns related to development.
  • Participate in the review of work done by development team members.
  • Learn and apply new technologies, practices, and tools.
  • Participate in internal tech communities and events.
  • 1+ years of experience in software development.
  • Good understanding of OOP and Functional programming paradigms.
  • Familiarity with Front End frameworks (React/Angular).
  • Familiarity with design/architectural patterns and clean code principles.
  • Proficiency in Java, IntelliJ IDEA, Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Gradle.
  • Practical experience in database systems and SQL.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with testing and mocking frameworks.
  • Familiarity with HTTP, REST, JSON, TCP/IP.
  • Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM, KANBAN).
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.

Job Description

Development is the largest discipline at Endava. Our developers design, build, and release software products in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and libraries. Always collaborating with cross-functional project teams, our developers are adaptable problem-solvers with a client-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops software components following IT industry standards, tools, and practices.
  • Participates in all activities of application development such as backlog refinement, estimation, implementation of the requirements, etc.
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to understand the client requirements, architecture, and priorities.
  • Escalates risks, issues, and concerns related to development activities.
  • Participates in the review of the work done by development team members.
  • Learns and applies new technologies, practices, and tools as appropriate to the project.
  • Participates in internal tech communities, events, etc.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in software development.
  • Good understanding of different common programming paradigms (OOP, Functional, etc.).
  • Familiar with Front End frameworks (React/Angular).
  • Familiar with design/architectural patterns and clean code principles (e.g., SOLID, GoF, MVVM).
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as Java, IntelliJ IDEA, Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Gradle. Nice to have: Kotlin.
  • Practical experience in platform-specific database systems and SQL.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git or similar.
  • Experience with testing and mocking frameworks.
  • Familiar with communication protocols and standards such as HTTP, REST, JSON, TCP/IP.
  • Basic knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM, KANBAN).
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Good problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
