Job Description

We’re looking for a Junior Video Editor with a passion for games, culture and storytelling, keen to break into the games industry. You’ll create trailers and video content for our games and key industry events, shaping Kepler's and our partner studios' perception. As part of the Creative team, you'll also define and develop output reaching beyond games into cultural spaces like art, music, and fashion, owning initiatives from conception to release.
Good To Have:
  • Additional skills in Figma, Cinema 4D, or Blender.
  • A developing skill set and willingness to learn new tools like Sequencer (UE5).
Must Have:
  • Create compelling video assets for games and the Kepler brand.
  • Collaborate with studio partners to craft content.
  • Contribute to the visual style of marketing campaigns.
  • Deliver across multiple formats: cinematic trailers, event reels, short-form social content.
  • Partner with development teams to capture in-game footage.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Ability to capture trailer-ready gameplay footage with sharp pacing, framing, and narrative flow.
  • Excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and keen sense of organisation.

Overview:

We’re looking for a Junior Video Editor with a passion for games, culture and storytelling, who is keen to break into the games industry and bring outside influences in a saturated market.

You’ll pay a key role is creating trailers and video content for our games and key industry events, shaping how Kepler and our partner studios are seen by players and the wider creative community.

As part of the Creative team, you’ll also be responsible for defining and developing output that reaches beyond games, into cultural spaces like art, music and fashion. Creating new initiatives in this space and owning them from initial conception to final public release will be key to success in this role.

What you’ll do:

Video

  • Work closely with our Creative Manager and Marketing team to brief, capture, direct and edit compelling video assets for our games and the Kepler brand.
  • Collaborate with our studio partners to craft content that captures the tone and vision of each project.
  • Contribute to the visual style of our marketing campaigns and brand content to inform external perception of our cultural aesthetic and tone.
  • Deliver across multiple formats, from cinematic trailers and event reels to short-form content for social platforms.

Capture

  • Partner with development teams to understand their builds, tools, and systems, enabling you to capture the best in-game footage possible.
  • Use in-engine tools (ideally Unreal Engine 5 / Sequencer) to stage and record scenes, collaborating with developers to produce custom content for marketing and social use.
  • Occasionally, there may be need to embed with studios on-site to capture assets directly and ensure authenticity in the footage.

What you’ll bring

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong video editing and creation experience – this doesn’t need to be gaming specific, we want to see what you can do across different mediums.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects), with additional skills in Figma, Cinema 4D, or Blender a strong plus.
  • A developing skill set and a willingness to learn new tools as they become relevant, especially tools like Sequencer (UE5).
  • The ability to capture trailer-ready gameplay footage, comfortable in-game, with a sharp sense of pacing, framing, and narrative flow… aka, you need to be able to play games - well.
  • Excellent communication skills; you can articulate creative ideas clearly, give and receive feedback constructively, and navigate differing opinions while keeping projects moving forward.
  • Comfortable collaborating in a high-performing, fast-paced environment where ideas are challenged and standards are high. Be eager to grow both as a contributor to projects and as a creative in the team.
  • Ability to take responsibility for smaller projects, with the ambition to become autonomous in your role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exercise sound judgement based on available information.
  • An eagerness to learn what works, share ideas and try new things. Ready to adapt and shift direction if needed while safeguarding the core intent of any brief we work on.
  • An attention to detail and a keen sense of organisation in all aspects of your work.
  • A desire to help define and create Kepler’s brand and visual output going forward.

What can you expect during the Interview Process:

Screening call: You’ll meet with Kate, our People Director, for an introductory call to get to know more about you, whilst answering any questions you have.

Stage 1: Interview with Simon, Head of Creative, and Shiv, Creative Manager, to deep dive into your skills and experience.

Stage 2: Cultural interview with Amy and Davey, focused on assessing your alignment with Kepler brand vision and values.
