Job Description

Valeo, a global tech company, is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to design breakthrough mobility solutions, focusing on intuitive driving and reduced CO2 emissions. The role involves applying safety standards (V5000, TS16949, V1000, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001) using QRQC methodology. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and controlling the Quality Laboratory and Warranty analysis group, performing tests, evaluating results, and issuing reports. The engineer will also help develop and validate testing procedures, advise other departments, maintain test request files, track progress, ensure proper equipment operation and calibration, and uphold safety procedures in the lab. Additionally, the role entails coordinating long-term lab development, managing the lab budget, facilitating housekeeping, and interpreting test results with recommendations. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsible for the application of safety standards and for adhering to V5000, TS16949, V1000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 standards using QRQC methodology (All functions),  On the Job Training (OJT) of peers and  Stop Scrap procedures (Related to all manufacturing) where applicable.

  • Plan, direct, organize and control the Quality Laboratory and Warranty analysis group on a daily basis.

  • Performs work to the highest standards and in accordance with QS9000/TS16949, ISO, 14001, and ISO 17025 standards.

  • Perform tests, evaluate test results and issue reports.

  • Help develop, modify, validate, implement, and maintain Quality Laboratory operating testing procedures.

  • Advise and assist other departments on test scheduling and test results.

  • Maintain files of open and completed test requests and reports.

  • Track the progress of work to be completed.

  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance and calibration of lab test equipment.

  • Ensure safety procedures are always followed in the lab.

  • Maintain job descriptions and initiate training programs to improve performance of lab personnel.

  • Coordinate long term lab development to maximize autonomous capabilities and meet future certification program requirements.

  • Maintain budgetary control of supplies, equipment, and personnel.

  • Facilitate housekeeping activities to ensure the lab consistently presents a clean and professional work environment.

  • Can perform, report, interpret results, and make recommendations or opinions on any and all tests trained to perform per the versatility matrix.
