Job Description

NiCE is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to join their team in Southampton. The role involves analyzing business scenarios, understanding requirements, evaluating service level agreements, designing and executing performance test scripts, identifying bottlenecks, interpreting results, and preparing test reports. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in performance testing, software R&D, or system support. Key responsibilities include driving test strategies, overseeing testing activities, and ensuring best practices. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.
Must have:
  • 10+ years in Performance Testing, R&D, or System Support
  • Experience with K6, LoadRunner & JMeter
  • Strong understanding of database architecture
  • Solid understanding of cloud web application architectures
  • Experience automating tests and environments
  • Practical knowledge of C#, Web API testing, Azure portal
  • Good understanding of web application system architectures
  • Practical knowledge of Agile testing methodologies
  • Process oriented with attention to detail
  • Troubleshooting and data analysis skills
  • Experience with reporting software (Power-BI, Excel)
Good to have:
  • Experience with Elasticsearch/Kibana
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience with GIT
  • Experience with Azure
  • Experience with databases
  • Knowledge of Fiddler
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps
  • Experience working on Linux/Unix
  • Experience in Security or Performance non-functional testing
  • Degree or equivalent qualification

Lead Performance Test Engineer - Southampton (hybrid).

 

So, what’s the role all about?

  • We are looking for a talented Lead Performance Test Engineer to join our team. You must:
  • Be able to communicate effectively, including via email, instant message, phone, and video conferencing tools.
  • Be fierce in your pursuit of product quality.
  • Be an excellent problem solver with an active interest in the latest test tools and technologies.
  • Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about process.

 

How will you make an impact?

  • Analysing business scenarios
  • Understanding the functional and non-functional requirements 
  • Evaluating the objectives of the service level agreement
  • Designing the test scripts 
  • Identifying parameter for testing 
  • Designing workload models 
  • Executing performance runs 
  • Using consistent metrics for monitoring 
  • Identifying bottlenecks, and where they occur 
  • Interpreting results and graphs
  • Understand describe the relationship between queues and sub-systems. 
  • Identify suggestions for performance tuning. 
  • Preparing the test report Qualifications 
  • Demonstrated capability to drive out Test Strategies in a global organization and to oversee the testing team activities and initiatives for best practices. 

 

Have you got what it takes?

  • At least 10+ years’ experience in Performance Testing, software R&D and/or System support/engineering
  • Experience in Performance Testing web applications, services and support architectural assets thru using solutions such as K6, LoadRunner & JMeter 
  • Strong understanding of the Database architecture and concepts 
  • Solid understanding of cloud based web application architectures.
  • Have ability to run and enhance data generation tooling.
  • Have significant experience of automating tests and test environments.
  • Have practical knowledge of C#, Web API testing, Azure portal.
  • Have good understanding of web application system architectures.
  • Have practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, with an emphasis on Agile testing.
  • Be process oriented with good attention to detail.
  • Follow a structured and analytical approach, with good troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with reporting software such as Power-BI and excel. 

 

You will have an advantage if you also have:

  • Practical experience of: Elasticsearch/Kibana; JavaScript; GIT; Azure; and Databases 
  • Knowledge of Fiddler, Azure DevOps
  • Experienced in working on Linux/Unix 
  • Experience in Security or Performance non-functional testing.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
