Job Description

The Lead Product Specialist leads a team of product specialists, collaborating with Application Engineers, Product Managers, and developers to drive product development and provide expert assistance in deploying complex advanced features. This role utilizes advanced technical and problem-solving skills to address intricate issues, ensure product quality, and influence the direction of new product features. Key responsibilities include defining complete requirement specifications for complex features, collaborating with a global team of field application engineers to converge on customer-representative requirements, working independently and motivating others, acting as a regional subject matter expert in at least one product area, developing training materials for customers, mentoring junior staff, and completing assignments accurately and efficiently.

  • Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code
  • Solid TCL, Python programming skills
Good to have:
  • Excellent technical knowledge in Ansys Electronics tools for electronic and systems design
  • Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality support for large-scale commercial software
  • Ability to translate business needs into development plans
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies

Summary / Role Purpose

The Lead Product Specialist leads a team of product specialists working closely with Application Engineers, Product Managers, and product developers to drive product development and provide expert help in deployment of complex advanced features. The Lead Product Specialist uses advanced technical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues, ensure product quality, shape direction of new product features.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define complete requirement specification for a complex feature within the tool
  • Collaborate with world-wide team of field application engineers to converge on requirement specifications representing multiple customers
  • Work independently and as a member of a team and motivate others
  • Regional subject matter expert in at least one product area
  • Develop training/educational material for customers
  • Be a mentor for junior levels
  • Provide neat, accurate, and thorough work in a timely manner
  • Complete assignments without specific directions, recognize problems, and apply or suggest viable solutions

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years’ experience, MS with 6 years’ experience, or PhD with 3 years’ experience
  • Significant commercial experience in EDA software product engineering
  • Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code
  • Solid TCL, Python programming skills

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent technical knowledge and experience with Ansys Electronics tools for electronic and systems design specializing in SI/PI and RF.
  • Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality support for a large-scale commercial software
  • Ability to translate business needs into development plans
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior engineers
