Job Description

Haleon is seeking a Legal and Compliance Manager to provide high-level legal support, directly or by coordinating external lawyers, across Greece, Israel, and Cyprus. This role involves anticipating legal trends, designing and implementing legal solutions, and offering strategic advice to the Local Leadership Team. The manager will support projects, investigations, develop risk mitigation plans, and contribute to legal strategies for Central and Eastern Europe and other regions.

Must Have:
  • Provide high-level legal support in Greece, Israel, and Cyprus.
  • Coordinate external lawyers in Greece, Israel, and Cyprus.
  • Anticipate legal trends and design appropriate legal solutions.
  • Implement legal strategies.
  • Support projects and investigations with potential business impact.
  • Develop proper risk assessment and mitigation plans.
  • Provide professional and strategic advice to Local Leadership Team and stakeholders.
  • Participate and counsel Leadership Team meetings.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review commercial agreements.
  • Advise on legal aspects of sales commercial practices and promotion, including product claims.
  • Manage commercial dispute resolution and litigation.
  • Provide proactive legal support on industry issues, crisis management, and product incidents.
  • Oversee and advise on legal risks within the Risk Management and Compliance framework.
  • Deliver or coordinate legal trainings to client groups.
  • Liaise with central and regional Legal groups and other functions.
  • Advise on anti-corruption issues and apply the Haleon Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Framework.
  • Manage legal budget in market(s) to decrease costs.
  • At least 7 years of experience advising multinational enterprises in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Relevant experience managing multiple markets across several jurisdictions in FMCG, FMCH or Pharmaceuticals industry.

About the role as Legal and Compliance Manager

Are you energized by working in a fast changing and highly complex legal environment? If so, this Legal and Compliance Manager role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

As Legal and Compliance Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing a high level of legal support either directly or by coordinating a team of external lawyers in Greece, Israel and Cyprus, playing a key role in anticipating trends, designing and co-ordinating the implementation of appropriate legal solutions and strategies.

You’ll be involved in the legal support of projects, investigations having potentially significant impact on the business, and developing proper risks assessment and mitigation plans. You will provide professional and strategic advice to the Local Leadership Team and various cluster stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, as part of a group of Legal professionals supporting Central and Eastern Europe as well as other regions such as Baltics, Caucasus, Central Asia, South-East Europe, Balkans, Adriatic and Mediterranean Islands.

Your responsibilities may include some of the following:

  • Support business operations in Greece and Israel and Cyprus.
  • Participation and counsel to Leadership Team meetings.
  • Negotiating/drafting and/or reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Advising on legal aspects of sales commercial practices and promotion including review of product claims and challenges.
  • Advising and managing commercial dispute resolution and litigation.
  • Providing proactive legal support on industry issues, crisis management and product incidents.
  • Oversight and advising the business of legal risks within the Risk Management and Compliance framework.
  • Delivering/ coordinating legal trainings to client groups.
  • Liaising with other central and regional groups within Legal as well as other functions (such as Corporate Tax, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain etc)
  • Advising on anti-corruption issues (including participation in the application of the Haleon Anti-Bribery and Anti- Corruption Framework);
  • Appropriately manage legal budget in your market(s) so that alternative billing arrangements are reached with Law Firms and costs are decreased as much as possible

Qualifications and skills Essential

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s in law; Qualified lawyer/Legal counsel

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Master of Law
  • Relevant experience in supporting multiple markets in the region

Work requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience advising multinational enterprises and working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Relevant experience managing multiple markets across several jurisdictions in FMCG, FMCH or Pharmaceuticals industry
  • Sound knowledge of industry specific commercial practices, European Union Competition Law, Commercial and Corporate Law
  • Demonstrated Business Development support, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC) experience
  • English – advanced or proficiency level; other languages would be a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with technology, in particular the Microsoft environment and relevant applications
  • Excellent team player, detail-oriented, able to work with both executive and non-executive managers
  • Travel across the Cluster markets from time to time
