Job Description

WildBrain CPLG is seeking a Licensing Manager for their Shanghai office to drive growth in softlines and/or hardlines categories. The role involves developing and implementing commercial strategies, securing new licensees, and managing day-to-day business operations. Responsibilities include financial management, contract negotiation, account management, product strategy, market analysis, trend forecasting, and ensuring strong retail distribution for licensees. The manager will build trusted relationships with partners, licensors, and stakeholders, fostering an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. This position requires teamwork with product development, finance, legal, and brand & retail teams to identify market opportunities and maximize brand exposure.

WildBrain CPLG, China is looking for a Licensing Manager to join our team! Reporting to Senior Licensing Manager, you will plan, develop and implement commercial strategies based on your company targets and objectives by supporting and accelerating growth with current and potential clients (softlines and/ or hardlines). Licensing Managers are expected to add value to the company by demonstrating exceptional sales abilities along with creating an environment of integrity, commitment, and trust.

  • Secure new licensees in designated categories tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the domestic business
  • Manage day-to-day business including all aspects of category management financials including budgeting, invoicing and royalty collection, contracts (new deals, amendments, and renewals), account management and relationship building, product strategy, category and market analysis, trend forecasting, and data for retail placement
  • Oversee new contract negotiations ensuring terms meet the company requirements and overall business objectives.
  • Support the brand management on establishing cross-promotional retail activities to ensure strong retail distribution for your licensees.
  • Work across multiple brands, building trusted relationships with our licensing partners, licensors as well as all other stakeholders.
  • Drive and be part of an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit within the office. Teamwork with product development, finance, legal, and brand & retail team.
  • Identify opportunities and fill gaps by product sub-category, franchise and market channel.
  • Feedback on the progress and outcome of the commercial efforts and supervising contract realization.
  • Work closely with content distribution and marketing teams to maximize exposure of WildBrain CPLG

    • 负责新合同的谈判工作,确保条款符合公司要求与整体业务目标。
    • 支持品牌管理团队开展跨品类的零售联合促销活动,确保被授权产品在零售端的强势分销。
    • 负责多个品牌的授权业务,建立并维护与被授权商、品牌方及其他利益相关者之间的信任合作关系。
    • 推动并参与办公室内创业精神及创新文化的建设,与产品开发、财务、法务、品牌及零售团队紧密合作。
    • 通过细分类别、品牌系列及市场渠道,持续识别并把握市场机会,填补市场空白,并开发与 CPLG 尚未合作的新被授权商。
    • 汇报商业开发工作的进展与成果,并监督合同的落实执行情况。
    • 与内容发行及市场营销团队密切合作,最大化 WildBrain CPLG 品牌的市场曝光度。

Qualifications

  • Significant demonstrable experience in sales and/or brand management
  • Direct licensing experience at in IP industry and in a licensing agency preferred, highly desirable (open to softlines or hardlines categories).
  • Experience with pitching properties, securing, and negotiating deal points and managing licensees; preferably in the character or entertainment industry
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills.
  • A keen eye for detail, hands-on approach with a strategic vision.
  • An innovative and creative manager/salesperson.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit who can communicate at all levels.
  • University education (is preferred).
  • Good verbal and written skills in English preferred.
  • Flexible team player with the ability to work collaboratively across the company
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Some travel may be required
  • Basic knowledge of Oasis(CRM) is a plus
