Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of the maintenance department functions and programs. This role involves directing and coordinating support services, as well as the training and development of employees within the department.
Must have:
  • Assist in interviews and hiring processes for maintenance personnel
  • Orient and train maintenance personnel
  • Coach, counsel employees, and initiate discipline as required
  • Evaluate the performance of subordinates
  • Develop and implement preventative and other maintenance programs
  • Identify, research, and resolve problems related to equipment operation
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operating department requirements
  • Lead employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Perform regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings
  • Develop, implement, and supervise the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program
  • Repair machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets
  • Order supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates
  • Maintain records of repair/maintenance activities per Company policy
  • Prepare other reports as required
  • Perform duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Post-high school education is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area
  • 1 to 3 years of experience managing people
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous wage and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Working knowledge of the use of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand tools
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Good to have:
  • Understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures

  • Coaches counsel employees, and initiates discipline as required

  • Develops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves problems
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with the operating department's requirements
  • Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings
  • Develops, implements, and supervises the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program
  • Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturing specifications, or by management request
  • Orders supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates
  • Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy
  • Prepares other reports as required
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Post-high school education is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance area; 1 to 3 years of experience managing people
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations

  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
