ANSYS, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Application Engineering to lead a team of application engineers. This role involves providing technical application engineering support and professional services, solving customer engineering problems, deploying Ansys software, and growing the Ansys business. The manager will oversee technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including discovery, presentations, demonstrations, and deployments. Responsibilities also include conducting performance reviews, engaging with key customer stakeholders to demonstrate Ansys' value proposition, developing and implementing best simulation practices, partnering with sales managers on opportunities and forecasting, and mentoring team members. The position also requires contributing to process improvement, collaborating with product development teams to translate customer requirements, and managing team contributions to consulting services and marketing efforts.
Must have:
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in CS, EE, ME, Chem, or Aero Engineering.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Three years of manager-level or senior engineer experience.
  • Two years of experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) solutions.
  • Two years of experience with Ansys ModelCenter, optiSLang, and TwinBuilder.
  • Experience with Ansys software or other CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software.
  • Experience architecting and developing complex engineering solutions.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with eight years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software packages.
Perks:
  • Domestic travel up to 25% of time.
  • May permit telecommuting from within commuting distance of an Ansys office.

SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Manager Application Engineering to work in Canonsburg, PA

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    The Manager Application Engineering will manage a team of application engineers, to deliver technical application engineering support and professional services, solve customers’ real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business.
•    Manage a team of application engineers in one product area in executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and deployments to drive software sales in new accounts and expand in existing accounts; 
•    Conduct annual performance review for team members; 
•    Engage with key customer stakeholders to establish the Ansys value proposition, understand their product design needs, develop and implement best simulation practices to improve customer productivity; 
•    Partner with sales managers to review opportunities, forecast, build pipeline, prioritize engineering resources, develop ideas and support execution of new business growth initiatives;
•    Lead and participate in the development and mentoring of team members, including, but not limited to, providing the team with effective guidance to support key goals, recruiting top talent, establishing cross product / sub-region collaboration, and professional growth; 
•    Contribute to continuous process improvement, suggest and/or lead process improvement initiatives, and lead the effective implementation of resulting changes within the team; 
•    Create a collaborative and inclusive environment for the team to work with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features, test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems and measure progress; 
•    Manage team members to contribute to Ansys consulting services and field and digital marketing; and Practice and promote One Ansys culture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or a related field of study, and six (6) years of experience in a related position.
•    Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or a related field of study, and eight (8) years of experience in a related position. 
•    Work experience or academic coursework must have included: 
•    Three (3) years of manager-level or Senior Engineer level work experience;
•    Two (2) years of experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) solutions including digital twins, ROMs, automation, optimization; 
•    Two (2) years of experience with Ansys ModelCenter, Ansys optiSLang, and Ansys TwinBuilder; 
•    Experience with Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software packages; 
•    Experience with architecting and developing complex and multidisciplinary engineering solutions. 
•    Domestic travel required up to 25% of time.
•    Additional work location information: May permit telecommuting from within commuting distance an Ansys office.
