The Manager, Strategic Business Development (Attorney) at Harvey leads a team of attorneys in a sales overlay function, supporting go-to-market strategies. This role applies legal expertise to help clients understand Harvey's AI solutions for legal tasks, driving sales targets, and fostering customer partnerships. Key duties include leading, coaching, and hiring attorneys, overseeing sales targets, conducting product demonstrations, and developing tailored AI prompts. The manager acts as a bridge between customers and Harvey’s Product and Engineering teams, gathering feedback and rigorously testing new AI tools to ensure high standards for legal use cases and align product development with market demands.

  • Lead in-depth, hands-on training and enablement sessions for attorney audiences.
  • Develop and produce bespoke AI prompts and use cases for law firms and in-house legal departments.
  • Act as a bridge between customers and Harvey’s Product and Engineering teams.
  • Gather, synthesize, and share substantive, legally-oriented feedback.
  • Rigorously test and evaluate Harvey’s new AI tools and product improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align product development with market demands.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and at least four years of experience practicing law.
  • Licensed attorney at a top-tier law firm (Vault 50 or equivalent).
  • Corporate law or litigation focus.
  • Executive engagement skills and presence.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key decision makers.
  • Understanding of the substance and business of legal practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LexisNexis, and Westlaw.
  • Sales or customer-facing experience, including law firm business development or secondment.
  • Experience directly managing law firm client matters and client relationships.
  • Managing collaborative, cross-functional teams at a law firm.
  • Knowledge of legal practice and substantive transactional legal issues.
  • Leadership of deal teams, including client management skills.
  • Ability to assess risks, opportunities, and commercial considerations.
  • Advising clients to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Applying legal knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to commercial negotiations.

Job Description: Harvey’s Strategic Business Development team consists of attorneys working in a sales overlay function to support all aspects of our go-to-market strategy. In this role, you will apply legal experience to ensure that current and prospective Harvey customers understand how our AI solutions can be applied to legal tasks and processes.
