Job Description

The Manufacturing Operator will work under general supervision performing routine assignments and maintaining a clean work area. This role involves applying technical knowledge to complete tasks, identifying basic problems, and presenting them to a supervisor. The operator will support continuous improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma, process control, and lean manufacturing. A key responsibility is actively supporting company-wide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, including radiation safety for X-ray equipment, and promptly correcting any hazards. The role also involves supporting the evolution and operation of an EHS program and executing/maintaining relevant ISO standards depending on location.
Must have:
  • High school graduate
  • Strong math skills
  • Problem analysis and resolution experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with networked PC based computer systems
  • Technically inclined with good mechanical skills
  • Aptitude to make decisions affecting process quality
  • Well organized
  • High attention to detail
  • Willingness to cross-train
  • Flexibility for changing work conditions
  • Competence in quality control procedures
  • Knowledge of computer-aided manufacturing
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team-based environment
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Details

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works under general supervision.
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas.
  • Works on assignments that are routine in nature.
  • Applies working general knowledge of technical resources to complete assigned task.
  • Identifies basic problems and presents to supervisor for next steps.
  •  Supports initiatives to continuously improve and reduce variations in specific operations or processes, including Six Sigma training, process control charting, process capability studies, and lean manufacturing.
  • Actively supports company-wide environmental, health and safety programs including radiation safety for work with X-ray equipment.
  • Quickly responds to correct any environmental, health or safety hazard.
  • Provides and supports the evolution and operation of an EHS program.

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate. 
  • Strong math skills.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred. 
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software
  • Must be technically inclined with good mechanical skills.
  • Must have the aptitude to make decisions that affect downstream process quality.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills.
  • Must be comfortable working with and around chemicals (safety training is provided).

  • Must have a willingness to cross-train and expand current skill set.
  • Must be flexible in order to react positively to quickly changing work conditions.
  • Must have competence in quality control procedures to ensure product meets both organization and industry standards.
  • Must have knowledge and competency in computer-aided manufacturing.  make data entry.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities
  • Ability to work in a cross cultural, team-based environment.
  • Display and lead by example, the proper behaviors that support the company values.
  • Understanding of how to monitor inventory levels adequately to ensure the availability of the required resources and the attainment of production goals.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds
