You will lead small teams to deliver those experiences, driving design alignment and collaboration across creative disciplines. You will also be accountable for unblocking and empowering UI/UX designers and ensuring the quality of their craft.

In the context of Marathon, you are a member of a leadership group focused on a specific area of the player experience, called a Domain. You will be accountable to the team creative lead and inform the UI/UX design decisions for your Domain, while continuing to drive a consistent and holistic user experience across groups.

  • Relentlessly build alignment between creative and executional leaders
  • Ensure the UI/UX team's work is achievable by guiding them to appropriately adjust scope based on technical realities
  • Work closely with the Domain and Marathon Leadership Teams to set guidelines for implementation of the Marathon IP via the extraction shooter genre
  • Support the work of cross-discipline teams to understand and execute on what is best for the game
  • Maintain Marathon IP quality, design craft excellence, and consistency
  • Lead the communication and “why” behind design decisions
  • Own features and development of design decisions with partner teams

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience executing UI/UX design pillars and systems, especially with respect to usability
  • Previous experience as a design lead or above focused on UI/UX for a large-scale, multiplatform, live-service game
  • Experience designing, documenting, and building UI/UX systems, especially with respect to usability

  • Excitement for collaboration with designers, artists, programmers, audio professionals, quality assurance and producers to achieve a common goal, no matter where they are
  • Ability to creatively align with the team and then build alignment with the greater Marathon team
  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, including giving and handling feedback despite that ambiguity
  • Familiarity and fluency with user research and how it should impact design decisions

For Senior Lead candidates:

  • Extensive demonstrated ability to work independently, driving tasks to completion with efficiency and reliability
  • Proactive in making design decisions and solving problems with a focus on the broader impact to the overall project
  • Strong ability to engage in both discipline-specific and cross-functional discussions, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
