WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

SimCorp Asia Pacific (APAC) is looking for a proven, results-driven and solution-oriented Senior Principal Sales Specialist who will be accountable and fully responsible for the ‘functional sell’ of SimCorp product and services offers, to new SimCorp APAC clients. This will include having responsibility for direction, and mentorship of the sales team and presales team on specific deals as well as working closely with the marketing function in region.

The role requires a broad understanding of various financial markets, ranging from trading, analytics, settlement, to performance measurement, risk management, fund administration and accounting. Due to the broad asset class coverage in SimCorp One, there will be exposure to everything from straight forward equities, fixed income securities and alternatives to more complex derivate, credit and OTC instruments.

The Senior Principal Sales Specialist works closely with senior leadership, sales teams, and clients to ensure that SimCorp’s solutions are effectively positioned and aligned with client business objectives.

With typically 10-15 years of experience in sales, this role is responsible for managing high-value accounts, building relationships with key stakeholders, and providing tailored sales strategies to support the acquisition and retention of major clients. The Senior Principal Sales Specialist works closely with senior leadership, sales teams, and clients to ensure that SimCorp’s solutions are effectively positioned and aligned with client business objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Achievement of new license revenue targets across North Asia
  • Territory development ensuring all opportunities are qualified, developed and managed effectively through to closure of a sale
  • Research, analyze and confirm addressable market in North Asia
  • Dedicatedly support sales and marketing campaigns as defined by the global and regional marketing functions
  • Maintain and update accurate information in Salesforce
  • Engage, along with the sales team, with the client and develop initial relationships to discover the opportunity. Partner with Marketing and enable Inside Sales to discover opportunities to drive pipeline creation.
  • Create and implement strategic and operational plans to improve the market position, product range, innovation sales support, brand awareness and customer focus to attract volume from competitors.
  • Articulate the need internally at SimCorp APAC. Understand the opportunity.
  • Identify that it is real. Qualify the opportunity.
  • Determine likelihood of a win. Assess the qualified opportunity.
  • Create pursuit team – including with the collaboration of senior locally and globally. Secure the opportunity.
  • Ensure detailed information transfer from the sales process to the implementation team after a contract has been signed.
  • Be knowledgeable in SimCorp offers and become well-versed in the value propositions of our solutions.
  • Be a pivotal part of negotiating contract pricing and overall responsibility for legal matters.
  • Lead, coach, motivate and develop the team to deliver effective and robust marketing strategies that leverage the core values and create a compelling competitive advantage.
  • Explore new routes to market – identifying and exploiting new technologies, services, and partnerships to enhance revenue opportunities.
  • Identifying and prioritizing key players and top targets and corresponding opportunities of growth in line with broader SimCorp product growth objectives.

Type of Work This Role Could Engage With:

  • Leading sales efforts for large, strategic accounts, including complex negotiations and high-stakes contract discussions.
  • Collaborating with senior management to align sales strategies with SimCorp’s business objectives and market positioning.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior sales staff to develop their skills and contribute to the success of the sales team.
  • Conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform sales tactics and identify new business opportunities.
  • Providing insights to product teams based on customer feedback, helping to shape future product development and innovation.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree and a demonstrated interest and ability to engage in solutions-oriented discussion with senior leaders of the fund industry
  • Previous experience in a Sales role is critical.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales roles, highlighting the ability to create quality results while effectively managing several tasks in a busy organization.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the senior most leaders of the funds that are based in APAC – mutual funds, pension funds, insurance funds – for accounts in your addressable market.
  • Ability to learn/gain a deep understanding of the different business issues the SimCorp offerings solve – industry acumen and subject matter comfort, if not expertise, is a must.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically. The ability to work with and lead a sales process; choosing the best strategies for the organization and then executing the sales tactics with the deal team to accomplish those strategies.
  • Balance of people, selling and relationship development skills, along with enough understanding of the core product solution and other services the company offers in order to differentiate SimCorp in the market and compel prospects towards interest and ongoing participation/revenue generation.
  • Demonstrated experience proficiently leading the lifecycle of the sales process including accurately updating sales forecasts, managing salesforce.com and facilitating the weekly sales meeting to promote collaboration, accountability, and progress.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining relationships, with a keen ability to recognize and meet customer requirements related to SimCorp's scalable offerings.
  • Skill in recognizing market trends that could influence corporate sales strategies.
