The Operations Director at Virtuos will provide strong leadership, setting the creative vision and direction for the studio. Responsibilities include overseeing studio operations (project management, budgeting, scheduling), developing game development strategies aligned with market trends, leading recruitment and talent management, guiding the creative process, collaborating with various departments, ensuring quality standards, and driving innovation. The role also involves actively engaging in business activities to secure projects, working closely with the Business Development team. This is a senior leadership role requiring proven success in game development and strong leadership and communication skills.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction: Provide strong leadership, setting the creative vision and direction for the studio. Inspire and mentor teams to achieve their best and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
Studio Operations: Oversee all aspects of studio operations, including project management, EBITDA health, team allocation, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure timely and successful game development.
Game Development Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for game development, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends, player preferences, and the company's goals.
Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead recruitment efforts, build and manage a talented team of game developers, artists, designers, and other necessary personnel. Nurture talent, providing mentorship and growth opportunities.
Creative Oversight: Guide and contribute to the creative process, from game concept to design and development, ensuring high-quality and innovative game experiences.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, marketing, technology, and business development, to align strategies and achieve overall company objectives.
Quality Assurance and Innovation: Ensure adherence to quality standards, drive innovation, and continuously seek ways to improve game development processes and techniques.
Securing projects: As the operation director of this studio, you are required to actively engage in business activities related to the studio and assist the Business Development team in securing projects.

Qualifications

Proven track record in a senior leadership role within the game development industry or related fields.
Strong understanding of game development processes, technologies, market trends, and player preferences.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality games and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in game development, computer science, business administration, or related field. Advanced degrees and certifications are a plus.
