Job Description

We are looking for a Pipeline Engineer to join our team and help implement, maintain, and enhance our production pipeline. You’ll collaborate closely with our Technical leadership, contributing tools and workflow improvements that support asset management and integration across Maya, ShotGrid, Unity, and Unreal Engine. This role focuses on building and extending our established pipeline, bringing your expertise to strengthen and evolve the systems already in place.
Must have:
  • Develop and maintain Python tools for asset publishing, tracking, validation, and automation.
  • Create ShotGrid integrations for asset ingestion, version control, and task management.
  • Build utilities to streamline asset transfer between Maya, Unity, and Unreal.
  • Extend existing toolsets and workflows to meet evolving project needs.
  • Ensure consistent data handling, naming conventions, and asset structures throughout production.
  • Implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive work.
  • Collaborate with artists, developers, and production to ensure smooth asset flow between tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Proactively suggest improvements that align with our technical direction.
  • Write clear documentation for tools and workflows.
  • Help onboard and support team members in using pipeline tools.
Good to have:
  • Additional scripting skills (C#, MEL, Blueprint)
  • Familiarity with Rez or similar environment management tools
  • Knowledge of automated build/deployment systems for real-time projects
  • Background in game development, animation, or VFX production

Responsibilities

Tool & Script Development

  • Develop and maintain Python tools for asset publishing, tracking, validation, and automation.
  • Create ShotGrid integrations for asset ingestion, version control, and task management.
  • Build utilities to streamline asset transfer between Maya, Unity, and Unreal.

Pipeline Maintenance & Enhancement

  • Extend existing toolsets and workflows to meet evolving project needs.
  • Ensure consistent data handling, naming conventions, and asset structures throughout production.
  • Implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive work.

Workflow Support

  • Collaborate with artists, developers, and production to ensure smooth asset flow between tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Proactively suggest improvements that align with our technical direction.

Documentation & Training

  • Write clear documentation for tools and workflows.
  • Help onboard and support team members in using pipeline tools.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to improving workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python with production-level tool development experience.
  • Experience with Maya Python API and ShotGrid Toolkit API.
  • Familiarity with Unity and Unreal asset workflows.
  • Understanding of asset management principles, version control, and metadata.
  • Experience with Git or Perforce.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements
