Job Description

The Post Production Pipeline Technical Director will support users with third-party DCCs like Nuke and proprietary Flawless products. Responsibilities include addressing application issues, integrating DCC apps into pipelines, creating tools for ingest and delivery, and maintaining Python scripts to ensure efficient workflow. The role involves media and asset management support within a cloud-based infrastructure and developing solutions for recurring issues. The candidate should understand the film post-production process, be proficient in Python, have experience with Linux systems and software lifecycle management, and be able to discuss technical issues with creative users. The candidate is expected to work in a hybrid environment with autonomy and collaboration. The responsibilities also include user application support for 3rd Party DCC’s e.g Nuke, DaVinci Resolve; Proprietary Flawless products & pipeline; Identifying and troubleshooting application issues to the appropriate product team(s); development of tooling for ingest & delivery.

Must have:

Understanding of film post-production pipeline.
Proficiency in Python programming language.
Experience using Linux systems.
Experience managing software lifecycle, releases to production, version control e.g git, automated builds.
Proficient troubleshooting, problem solving and debugging skills.

Good to have:

Familiarity with a production/content management and versioning system e.g ShotGrid, Ftrack.
Experience with common film image pipeline libraries e.g OTIO, OIIO, OCIO.
Proficiency with DCC-specific APIs (e.g. Nuke, Resolve).
Understanding of the film color pipeline including ACES workflows.
Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).

What we are looking for:

The Pipeline Technical Director involves supporting users with 3rd party DCC's like Nuke as well as proprietary Flawless products. Responsibilities include triaging application issues, integrating DCC apps into pipelines, developing tooling for ingest and delivery, and maintaining Python scripts for efficient workflow.

The candidate should understand film post-production, be proficient in Python, and have experience with Linux systems and software lifecycle management. Additional desirable qualifications include familiarity with production management systems like ShotGrid, experience with film image pipeline libraries.

Job Responsibilities:

User application support:3rd Party DCC’s e.g Nuke, DaVinci Resolve.
Proprietary Flawless products & pipeline.
Identifying and troubleshooting application issues to the appropriate product team(s).
Continued development for integration of DCC apps into the pipeline.
Development of tooling for ingest & delivery.
Maintaining and writing python scripts as required for shows to deliver work in an efficient manner.
Media and asset management support through the pipeline (cloud based infrastructure).
Ownership of support workflows, for example facilitating means to deal with recurring issues.

Qualifications:

Understanding of the film post production pipeline.
Proficiency in Python.
Awareness of security requirements when handling sensitive media.
Experience using Linux systems.
Experience managing software lifecycle, releases to production, version control e.g git, automated builds.
Proficient troubleshooting, problem solving and debugging skills in a production environment.
Proven experience in a support setting.
Competency conversing about technical issues with creative users.
Familiarity with a production/content management and versioning system e.g ShotGrid, Ftrack.
Experience with common film image pipeline libraries e.g OTIO, OIIO, OCIO.
Proficiency with DCC-specific APIs (e.g. Nuke, Resolve).
Understanding of the film color pipeline including ACES workflows.
Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).

$105,000 - $115,000 a year

Our interview process is three rounds with some casual Zoom (or in-person) coffee in between to get to know each other:

Recruiting Screen: 30-45 minute call with our recruiting team (We want to discuss your interests and motivations as well as the practical details and make sure that Flawless would be a good fit for you)

Coding Test: 60 minute live python coding exercise.

HM Discussion: 45 minutes digging into your past experience. Primarily asking you to talk through your past work, experience within the industry, and covering the day to day scope of work you'll be engaging in at Flawless.

Team Screen / Behavioral: 60 minutes onsite with our Team. Discussing how you work and how you have approached different experiences in the past. We want to make sure that our environment will be right for you and that you will enjoy working here.
